Manufactured in 3” and 4” Nominal Size these units are small, light and cost effective to operate.
- Comes complete with Element and Male Hydraulic Quick Connector
- 3” LP & 4” LP Female Top and Bottom Connections.
- For other connections we can add a short Pin X Pin or Pin X Box Crossover
- Each unit is “Shell Tested” by Third Party facility to 4500 PSI giving the Body only a 3000 PSI Working Pressure (the Elements cannot be certified to any pressure).
- Because of its 1:1 closing ratio, and direct closure with hydraulic fluid, the Regan Unit is ideal for stripping tubing. When the Type “K” is closed around tubing with 1,200 psi hydraulic pressure, and there is 1,000 psi of well bore pressure, there is approximately 200 psi net force against the tubing. When done correctly, stripping with the Type “K” will cause far less damage to the element.
- If the unit is used for stripping Sucker Rods, it is highly recommended that a Ram Type BOP such as a Ratigan be used in conjunction with the Regan to provide a safe and reliable seal on the rod bodies to seal the well bore.
- These units should not be used as the principal BOP for well control as they are not compliant with current API Specifications.
